To me the glorious era for Moody Yachts was the 1970s. Laurent Giles was among the designers who embraced the new GRP construction techniques of the '60s and there followed a strong partnership between him and Moody's for the next decade. The Moody 44 is a strong, well built and good looking offshore cruising yacht with a well balanced rig and seamanlike layout. The side decks are wide and she's easy to move around and everything on deck feels just that bit bigger than it needs to be.
