This owner does not want to pay Marina fees any longer! He wants this boat sold!!!
It's not so easy to find information about the Haka 86, and having met the boat, I can see that the boat is definitely an interesting character. She is well loved and maintained, with a liveable beamy, light and spacious living area. The raised deck provides standing headroom, all round visibility and proper ventilation.
She has an outboard engine ( new in 2023) and has a large saloon area, table, galley, and a V berth, as well as a port side aft ( large single) cabin, which is currently being used as a storage space.
The current owner has only owned her for a short period, and he has found that with his work commitments, he is simply not getting the time to use her as planned. When he bought her, it needed a few jobs done, some of these which have been completed, but there is still room for a new owner to finish off some jobs, and personalise things to their own style and taste.
For example, she currently can function of shore power, but does not have any means of charging her 400 amp battery bank whilst at sea, .
There are many new items, some, like the running rigging lines, are brand new, but have not been fitted yet.
The current owner has replaced and added a new 20 hp engine, new house batteries, and a Marine chart plotter with integrated AIS from ONWA, model name KP-39A. It brand new and still in the box.
This boat has done ocean crossings, and is an extremely basic boat and can, and does, function well, as proven by her recent trip down to Malaysia from Thailand.
She has the maximum beam to be trailerable for cheap transport, to be moved by road, or stored at home.
When the Haka 86 was built/ designed, the builders optimised the hull shape to obtain a sustained cruising speed, comfortable motion and easy steering with the tiller.
The pivoting keel board provides a shallow draft to approach beaches, dry out in tidal anchorages or sail up rivers. This is all done from inside the boat.
The boat is a foam-sandwich construction which is immensely strong.
The superstructures are designed to help recovering from a capsize.
The sail plan is rugged with a low centre of pressure. The boom is very low, to make easy main sail handling. The mast is on a tabernacle, allowing for easy lowing of the mast without disconnecting rigging.
The cockpit is well protected by the cabin while the clean deck layout is perfect for sail handling.
Please contact us today for more information, and we look forward to assisting you with what information we can offer you.
The boat would not be considered a project boat as it is not in dis-repair, but it does need a bit of work done, from what we can see, possibly a new furler, a main sail, and solar panels.
Hence the very low price.
Thank You so Much.
