Description
The bay of islands 44 is a cutter rigged 44 foot steel cruiser built in 1988 by conyer marine .
Since febuary 2023 she has had new davits for the allstar rib with a stainless frame on top that has two 370 watt solar panels with 4 new 100ah batteries and a 3000 w inverter .
There are 8 lewmar self tailing winches 2 large 2 small in the cock pit , 2 on the pilot house roof for the in mast main and 2 on the mast.
There is a spare old 3hp yamaha outboard but we tend to use the new mercury 9.9hp . A new Ais was fitted in febuary .
The engine room has a 5.5 kw cummings diesel generator and a 80hp ford saber that had a new water pump and a service this year . The engine has 5144 miles on it which will go up as we're still cruising .
The ford saber was made for trucks so they are made to last.
She has had 3 new pumps and switches for bilge , fresh and grey.
The last pulled out was in August 2023 when it was given two coats of epoxy undercoat and antifoul . It also has a new 6 man life raft.
There are two 340 litre fresh water tanks but on needs a liner . Also this year TON has had a new bimini and sides and a new bushman fridge .
There is a 240 volt air con unit , two large gas bottles which are good for 10+ montts a peice .
Raymarine chart plotter/Radar and a standard horizon chart plotter . Theres paper charts for asia, europe and the americas . All the usual saftey equiptment , flares 'out of date' , harnesses , wets , epirbs etc etc . Tools , plates , pots , electric cooking equiptment , cutlery and everything except our electrics, clothes and a few personal items stay with the boat .
Iv'e damaged my sholder and between me and my partner we seem to be clocking up to many injuries to carry on sailing .
We intend on sailing the comming season between Malaysia ,Thailand and indonesia but would sooner sell than leave Ton in a marina to rot .
