Private treaty sale on behalf of the Security / mortgage holder out of the Bankruptcy of The Donge Flushing Yard, amongst others are for sale, Backhoe Dredgers “Backacters” (BA900 / BA 1100) as well as a huge amount of Spare-Parts consisting of Booms, Sticks, Cylinders, Buckets, Hydraulic and Electric components, Navigation and so on.
For sale: Backhoe Dredger De Donge BA900 Pushing Daisies
The S-type dipperbarge has been designed to have, apart from the dredging function, a large free deck area, on which auxiliary equipment e.g. a large crane, or pile driving installation etc, can be put. On the deck it can carry goods/ products to be used for port-construction etc.
Another difference to the “dredge” concept is that the spudcarrier (for very exact, 100 % in line trench dredging) has been omitted. Instead self-propulsion ‘thruster’ for manoeuvring purposes at the site have been mounted for accurate positioning. Thus the dredge at site, can work without depending on tug assistance.
All three spuds are non tilting. Sea-securing of the spuds is by lashing with chains from the top to deck.
The large deck area and wider than usual provides space for the possibility to carry deck – loads up to about 600 ton. Several auxiliary cranes are fitted for services on deck and are present to provide services to the excavator.
The fuel-tanks of this barge are having a total 120 m3 approx. capacity, which could – at request – be enlarged.

Dimensions:
60.00 x 19.00 x 3.50 metres.
The bow of the dredge has been made higher, in order to create optimum towing conditions.
Classifications:
“Bureau Veritas”, + Hull ● Mach, special service, unrestricted navigation, “assisted propulsion”.
This means the dredge has a “Deep Sea” hull and can be towed world-wide.
Spuds:
Three stabilising spuds, each with a length of 30.00 metres will be present.
The dimension is 1400 x 1400 mm.
The weight of the spud is about 90 tons.
2 topsheaves and 2 bottomsheaves, are built in.
A rockpoint is present.
The sheaves are of solid steel.
Spudcasings:
All three spuds are placed in three heavily built, spudcasings.
The casings have a height of approx. 1200 mm above deck and all four reefing sheaves can easily be observed and greased.
Spudwinches:
All three, hydraulically driven, special duty, spudwinches have a 50 tons capacity.
Each winch is standing in an under deck winchroom.
The drums are grooved for 50-mm wire ropes and can be clutched out to obtain the “spud anchor” function.
The in the hydraulic system, integrated brakes are functioning 100% automatic.
Reefing:
The winches are reefed four (4) times to the spud, thus per spud 200 tons = 600 tons hoisting capacity is available for stabilisation.
This dredge can, with a splitbarge along side, work till a max wave-height of 1.50 M.
Self-manoeuvrability:
For self-manoeuvrability the dredge has been outfitted with two 350 kW hydraulically driven
rudder propellers, make H.R.P. The “thrusters” are driven by the nearby installed hydraulic powerpacks.
Due to this the dredge does not depend on tugs at the site.
Limited “Sailing” option for assisted propulsion:
“Bureau Veritas” and several flag states have agreed to permit the barge, not only to manoeuvre at site, but sail in a limited area at site and till 5NM out of port..
For this option an additional set of navigation instruments is required, such as a gyro, a radar, etc.
The value of this additional instrumentation is €. 118,000.00 has been installed on the “Pushing Daisies”.
Sailing in the port of the site is allowed as well till 5 nautical – miles outside the port where the dredger works.
BA 900 marine excavator:
The BA 900 marine excavator is mounted at the aft-deck, it’s flexible connection pedestal is lowered into the aft-section and is mounted on a heavily built counter foundation. Due to the shape of the aft the dredge can dredge max. 180°.
Preference is made to the BA900 specific documentation.
The dredging equipment will be as follows:
Monobloc : 16.00 metres.
Stick : 7.00 metres.
Bucket : 10.00 m³ SAE
Max. dredging depth : 22.00 metres.
Max. penetration capacity : 105 tons approx.
(Option: second stick : 10.00 metres.)
Second equipment with the second stick:
Monobloc : 16.00 metres.
Stick : 10.00 metres.
Bucket : 7.00 m³ SAE.
Max. dredging depth : 25.00 metres.
Max. penetration : 120 tons approx.
Dredging instrumentation:
A complete “Seatools” dredging instrumentation will be built in the excavator’s cabin.
Automatic draught levelling is integrated, so that eg tides and lower water are automatically compensated as well as penetrating spud.
The dredging instrumentation is being compensated for quick level changes as well.
Power packs:
The BA 900 is driven by one type QSK60 (1 x 1910 kW), Cummins diesel, and one QSK11 (1 x 310 kW), Cummins diesel.
Thus redundancy is guaranteed, not only for dredging operation, but as well for manoeuvring purposes and for spud-movements.
The diesels are water cooled by N.R.F. bun coolers, which are mounted in recesses on the under deck engine room, right before the flexible foundation section.
Both diesels drive via a gearbox, the H-pumps for the Backacter and other hydraulic consumers.
The H-pumps drive the thrusters and spud functions, as well as, the anchor winch, the auxiliary cranes etc.
Small consumers are put on the 310 kW powerpack.
Aft engine room:
The two powerpacks are mounted in the engine room under deck, just behind the BA 900.
The aft-engine-room has a main entry and an emergency exit. The hydraulic supply tank to the main-pumps is integrated in the housing of the engine-room. Thus the hydraulic main-pump are having “gravity” filling which enhances the expected life-time.
The hydraulic installation and all piping with H-filters to the backacter and thrusters, etc is found here.
A large hydraulic-oil cooling units is mounted.
The coolers for diesels, for the gearboxes, and for the hydraulic installations are found in seachests built in the side and bottom corners of the engine-room.
The floor of the engine-room has anti-slip steel plates: airfans provided for aircirculation (4 units of each 15000 m³).
Just in front of the engine-room, there is a generator room, where the 2 x 175 kVA generators are found.
All electric switchboard are fitted here.
The ballast bilge system is mounted in the aft engine room.
A standpipe to be installed with valve blocks of the bilge ballast system, etc in the generator room.
Aircirculation to be provided for the generator room.
A steel floor to be fitted. An entry and emergency exit to be provided.
